Boston Properties has begun work on a mixed use space which will have two levels of 29,000 sq ft retail space, 359 apartments ranging from studios to three bedrooms, located on 15 levels, 780 parking spaces in six levels, third level pool, a pet terrace on the roof, a gym, business center, and some great views. No retail stores have signed a lease at this point.

Lerner Corp. has sued Farifax County in steps to argue it should be able to develop the site to specifications approved in a 2006 conceptual plan. The plan allowed will be re-developing the Spectrum Shopping center from what is currently a commercial development into a mixed use space to include 1,442 residential units and 790,000 sq ft for office and retail. The current location of Best Buy will be replaced by two high rise residential buidlings and two office space buildings each to be 15 floors. 5,251 parking spaces will accompany the new developments. Two more towers will be built in the Harris Teeter shopping center. Harris Teeter may opt to expand into the Office Depot space there by gaining a third more space. Currently the stores in that development include Harris Teeter, Verizon Wireless, Barnes & Nobel, Best Buy, Citibank, Einstein Bagels, HSBC Bank, la Madeline, Lane Bryant, Navy Federal, Office Depot, On the Border, Robeks, PetSmart, Starbucks, The Men's Wearhouse, Macaroni Grill and more. |
